2026 Group 1 Gold Bullion Finals

The Golden Greys Summer Carnival reaches its climax at The Q this Thursday night with the running of two mouthwatering Group 1s and an abundance of feature finals, placing the cherry on top of an amazing month of greyhound racing.

The main feature in the Group 1 Gold Bullion, worth an amazing $250,000 to the winner, and interstate raider Irish Bill looks the greyhound to beat after drawing favourably in box one. His sensational 29.19 win in the Group 2 Golden Ticket gave him automatic entry in the final, and he’ll look to continue a superb winning streak of late. One of his main dangers appears to be fellow Victorian Canya Mayhem, who burst onto the Q2 scene after his smashing 29.37 heat win last week. Already a winner at Group 1 level, the son of Bernardo will have to contend with a tricky draw if he is to add to his already impressive resume. Winsome Jet – who has drawn box five in the final – has taken all before him since racing at The Q, while Pop’s Maestro (box seven) will help fly the flag for the locals after his impressive heat win.

The other Group 1 feature on the night is set for the stayers, with Australia’s golden girl Without A Trace (box one) looking for her fourth consecutive Group 1 win after a magnificent, Best of Night 41.06 heat win last Thursday. The box draw gives her every chance to again reign supreme, but she faces some super talented stayers. Jay Walking (box two) has not put a foot wrong since stepping up over the 710 metres, while Magpie Hector (box three) was only a length and a half slower than Without A Trace to qualify for the rich final in an awesome display of speed and strength.

Some of the other features on the night include the Country Cup final, the Group 3 Vince Curry Memorial for the maidens and the Group 3 Golden Oldies for the veterans.

An incredible night of racing awaits.
