Respect and Cooperation at Trial Sessions

Wednesday 28 October 2026, 4:30pm

The Queensland Greyhound Racing Club (QGRC) is reminding all participants attending trial sessions at The Q of their responsibilities to maintain a respectful, safe and cooperative environment for staff, participants and greyhounds.

Trial sessions are provided for the benefit of participants, and ensuring they operate safely and efficiently requires the cooperation of everyone attending.

Our staff work hard to conduct trial sessions as efficiently and safely as possible. They are committed to assisting trainers and ensuring everyone has a positive experience at the venue. We ask all participants to treat staff and fellow attendees with courtesy and respect at all times.

How you can help

To help trials run smoothly, participants are reminded that:

  • Trial bookings operate in 30-minute blocks. Your booking secures a place within that block, not a specific trial time. For example, a 7:00am-7:30am booking means your greyhound may trial at any time during that period.
  • Our trials staff attempt to schedule trials within each trial block based on factors such as the number of dogs, starting distance and trial type.
  • Trainers should arrive at the trainer’s car park 15 minutes before their allocated block time. Arriving earlier than your allocated block does not mean you trial earlier. Earlier trials can only be accommodated where space is available.
  • If you have bookings across multiple blocks, please arrive for the block containing the majority of your trials.
  • Participants should be ready to trial when called and follow all directions issued by Club staff.

Provide staff accurate information

The Club aims to have participants in and out of the venue on time. To achieve this, it is important that accurate information is provided when booking trials.

As trial sessions are now charged at a flat fee per trial regardless of the number of greyhounds being trialled, there is no benefit in understating the number of dogs you intend to trial. Our staff coordinate trial blocks accordingly to ensure safe track conditions for all greyhounds.

It is also important that you accurately advise staff of your intended trial distance and trial type, as blocks are also organised around these factors to ensure sessions run efficiently.

Providing incorrect information can disrupt operations, create delays for other participants and impact the safe conduct of trials.

Conditions of Entry and Club Policies

All persons attending The Q must comply with the venue’s Conditions of Entry and Club policies.

Any behaviour considered abusive, aggressive, intimidating or otherwise inappropriate by Club Management will be regarded as a serious breach of the Conditions of Entry. Individuals engaging in such behaviour may be directed to leave the venue immediately. Where necessary, the Club may take further action, including suspension of venue privileges or, in serious cases, the issuing of a formal ban. Repeated breaches may result in stronger penalties.

If you have concerns, feedback or wish to discuss any aspect of the trial process, please contact the QGRC Racing Team during business hours on (07) 3862 1744 or email racing@qldgreys.com.

The QGRC appreciates the cooperation of all trainers, owners and participants. By arriving on-time, providing accurate booking information and treating staff and fellow participants with respect, everyone can help ensure trial sessions remain safe, efficient and enjoyable for all involved.

Kind regards
